Fairfax State Savings Bank has been located on Vanderbilt Street in Fairfax, Iowa, since it was chartered in 1924. In nearly a century, there have been only three CEO's of Fairfax State Savings Bank: John L. Krall, David C. Neuhaus and David's son, Patrick Slater now serves as President/CEO, Director of the Bank.
The original building that housed the bank was built in 1900. A new building was built in 1964 and renovated in 1998 and 2023. This modernization brought cutting edge technology to the customers of Fairfax State Savings Bank. In 2022, the Bank expanded to Cedar Rapids with a commercial lending location in historic Kingston Village.
In an era of mergers and acquisitions, Fairfax State Savings Bank has been able to remain Fairfax State Savings Bank, while maintaining a stable financial environment. Our assets now exceed $265 million.
