Carl A. Nelson & Company is a self-performing general contractor on large projects and small for industrial, commercial and institutional clients. In addition to being skilled builders, our project management team has an engineering and design focus, with expertise in mechanical, electrical, architectural, civil and structural design review, which helps to ensure design is translated accurately into the field. Our construction crews and field supervisors are adept at concrete slabs and foundations, pre-cast and site-cast tilt-up concrete erection, steel erection, equipment-setting, bridge crane installation, millwright work, plant maintenance, metal building installation, finish carpentry and drywall, and much more. Safety on the jobsite is our primary objective, which goes hand-in-hand with budget, schedule and quality performance for our clients. Our design arm, Nelson Design, Inc., provides Building Information Modeling (BIM), code review/code study, design and design review. Nelson Plant Services provides ongoing maintenance and construction services in operating facilities. We are based in Burlington, with an office in Cedar Falls, and are licensed in 22 states.
