This event will bring together our staff, Board of Directors, elected officials, mascots and community collaborators to celebrate our shared commitment to accessible and patient centered healthcare for all!

Parents and their children from birth to school age are invited to join the Cedar Rapids Hike It Baby chapter for a family-friendly hike at the Nature Center! Hike It Baby is a national non-profit organization that offers new parents an opportunity to connect and get into nature with their young children. Dress appropriately for the weather, as we will be outdoors for the full hour. Baby carriers and all-terrain strollers are welcome, but strollers are not suitable for all trails. One of the most popular downtown events of the year, Market After Dark, presented by ImOn Communications, returns for the ninth year on Saturday, August 24, 2024. This year’s event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. and spans more than 15 city blocks filled with diverse vendors and lively stage and street entertainment for an evening of shopping.

The main stage, located at 5th Street & 4th Avenue SE, will Running in Place and Vandello. Our secondary stage will feature a rotating list of local musicians throughout the evening.

Thanks to a partnership with local establishments, patrons can enjoy a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the evening. Seven beverage stations will feature local brews and wine. New this year is a special Craft Brew tent on 3rd Street & 4th Avenue SE.

See Indian Creek property in a whole new way!

Have a seat in our quiet, electric golf cart as we tour prairies east of the nature center in style. Other routes/stops on this one-hour journey will include a stop at the blue bridge, peek inside the lower level of the old barn and drive through the sycamore and bluebird trails. We will provide the golf cart and the driver, you provide up to five people interested in a relaxing drive through our property.

A two hour option is also available. The two hour version will do all of the above and stop to view of the confluence of the Cedar River and Indian Creek, two wetlands and an optional stop for a picnic lunch (please bring your own). $12/person/hour (minimum of 2 people) or $60/hour for a private tour (up to 5 people).

The LFS Alumni Golf Outing is a fun way to reconnect with classmates and meet fellow alumni. This event is an opportunity to sharpen your golf game, connect with alums and serves as a major fundraiser for the LFS Youth Program.

Registration closes on August 13th
Register all members of your team (foursome or mini golf pairs) by July 11th and get a free round of drinks!

9 Hole Golf Tournament

Teams consist of 4 players. Check-in begins at 1 p.m. with announcemnts at 1:45 and a 2 p.m. shotgun start. Prizes will be awarded following the tournament for the best overall score, longest drive, longest putt, closest to the pin, worst overall score, the class with the most attendance and more! All tickets include food, music, and awards.
