Trained as an opera singer and classical pianist, singer-songwriter Lilli Lewis has been a composer, producer, and performing artist for over two decades. She has been known as the Folk Rock Diva since performing in the Folk Rock band The Shiz. As the story goes, Lewis' mother was told her baby probably wouldn't survive because of lung trouble in utero. Lewis now uses those same lungs to bring what she call sacred songs into profane spaces, and though she's abandoned trying to define her sound, she hopes her audiences leave her performances knowing two things: that they are brilliant as they are, and that they have the ability to use their own brilliance to make a better world.

This is a General Admission seated show held in the theater of CSPS Hall. Doors will open 1 hour before showtime.

In her early teen years, Black taught herself to play guitar using YouTube videos and, by the time she was in 9th grade, she was writing and performing in Nashville 3 to 5 days per week, made possible by homeschooling. Today, Black&#39;s music springs from many facets like rainbows of light and color showcasing her Southern roots blended with catchy melodies and lyrics. With over 500 shows under her belt, Black has opened for acts like The Bellamy Brothers, Charlie Daniels, and The Band Perry, and has been a regular Nashville&#39;s most popular songwriting venues, The Bluebird Cafe and The Listening Room. While her songs cover expansive thematic ground, they benefit greatly from Jill&#39;s subtle intelligence and skillful light-handedness. No sloganeering flag-and-fist waving here, but rather portrait and story songs about human beings, real and imagined, which allow us to step back from the issues they tackle, be they individual or societal, and to relate to them as we would to a close friend. On stage, she entertains, amuses, provokes, and, more often than not, takes her audiences on an emotional roller coaster, from comedy to pathos in a few bars of music, often within the same song. This is a General Admission seated show held in the theater of CSPS Hall. Doors will open 1 hour before showtime. $16 advance, $19 door</p>

Namoli Brennet has been writing, recording, touring, and releasing albums since the age of Napster. A multi-instrumentalist with a degree in composition, Brennet's decades-long career has seen her morph from more traditional singer/songwriter fare into what one reviewer called a "sonic painter", creating rich, ambient textures as a backdrop for often profound and poetic lyrics. Namoli has performed in most of the continental United States, Canada, Mexico, Austria, Switzerland, and Germany; has been nominated for numerous Outmusic awards, the German Music Critics award (twice), and was listed on the inaugural Trans 100 list. She's also been featured on NPR and her music is featured in the Emmy-award winning film Out In The Silence.

Laura Rain is a hard driving soul singer who uses the power and finesse of her own voice to inspire and electrify your spirit. Born and raised in Detroit, where her father engineered conveyer systems for the auto plants, she delivers her original music with fearless emotion and excitement. Along with her creative partner George Friend, the pair have released four albums with a unique blend of contemporary funky soul, blues, and R&B worthy of Detroit's rich history of musical innovators. Laura Rain's voice soars as she weaves her own path through a classic, but thoroughly modern, funky sound, reimagining the R&B, gospel, blues, and soul that made the city famous.
