Event Description:
The Gazette, a media company located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa will host a community forum regarding the Cedar Rapids Schools Facilities Master Plan on Wednesday, January 17 from 6pm-7:30pm at the Cedar Rapids Public Library (450 5th Avenue SE). This forum is free and open to the public but registration is required due to limited seating.
Superintendent of the Cedar Rapids Community School District Brad Buck along with CR School Board members John Laverty and Nancy Himble, CR School Chief Financial Officer Steve Graham and facilities committee member Shellie Pike will present facility plans and respond to questions about the framework that includes the closing of eight and rebuild of ten elementary schools. The plan may go to a school board vote as soon as January 22, 2018.
The Gazette’s Todd Dorman and Zack Kucharski will moderate through audience submitted questions leading up to and through the program.
