Event Description: Learn about current efforts in Iowa aimed at welcoming immigrants to our communities on April 19, 3:30–5:30 p.m., in Mount Mercy University’s Flaherty Community Room, Basile Hall 204. Join members of Mount Mercy University's Social Work Organization and social work program for a panel discussion with organizations that provide services to local immigrant populations. Free and open to the public. Panelists include: Rose Mizose, Hawkeye Community Action Program; Monica Vallejo, Hispanic Program Specialist at Young Parents Network; Mallory Petesche and Joana Lwin, Ethnic Minorities of Burma Advocacy and Resources Center.
