Event Description: Iowa City author Jerry Harrington will read from his new book, Crusading Iowa Journalist: Vern Marshall, at 7pm Thursday, January 26 in CSPS Hall, 1105 Third Street SE, Cedar Rapids. A book signing will follow at Next Page Books. Marshall was the editor of the Cedar Rapids Gazette and won the 1936 Pulitzer Prize for his investigation into illegal liquor and gambling that led to nearly 50 indictments and the trial of Iowa's attorney general.
