Event Description:
The Coe College Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Assistant Professor of Music Michelle Perrine Blair, will launch a new annual concert series entitled "Faculty and Friends of Music!" on Friday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. in Sinclair Auditorium. Sponsored in part by Friends of Music at Coe (FOMAC), this concert series brings together students, faculty members and community members for an out-of-the-box orchestral experience.
For this event, Velma J. MacMillan Assistant Professor of Piano Brett Wolgast will perform Handel's "Cuckoo and Nightingale" Organ Concerto with the Coe Symphony Orchestra. Finally, the group seeks to get out of traditional comfort zones with this series and bring audiences new and different concert experiences. For the inaugural concert, the symphony will perform Haydn's "Symphony No. 89" with no conductor.
A reception will follow the concert in Clark Alumni House. For more information, call 319-399-8521.
