Event Description:
In the 1960s, most Americans got their first news of far-off events from a new source—television. This was the era of “the big three” TV networks, and most Americans saw the news on half-hour news broadcasts as described by Walter Cronkite or the team of Huntley and Brinkley. The fact that Vietnam was our first TV war had a huge impact on the kinds of stories we tell about that war.
