Event Description: Brian Terrell of the Strangers and Guests Catholic Worker Farm in Maloy, Iowa will be on-campus at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25 in Flaherty Community Room to speak on nonviolence. RSVP required. Terrell is a longtime peace activist and founder of the farm in Maloy. He served a six-month sentence in a federal prison in Yankton, S.D. after protesting the United States’ drones program. He continues to speak out against war crimes he believes are committed by the U.S. government, and is an avid champion for justice and peace. The event is a part of Mercy Week, as well as Mount Mercy’s WWI remembrance and reflection series that will continue through mid-November.
