Event Description: If you are a woman entrepreneur, or want to be, IWLC is hosting a first-ever "Invest In She," a night where women's business dreams come true. A select group of Iowa women entrepreneurs will each get 3 minutes to pitch their ideas to take their companies to the next level. Evaluating and then potentially investing in their concepts on the spot: a panel of local investors ranging from venture capitalists to successful CEOs. Investments will range from $5,000 and up. ALL in front of a live audience. It takes place Thursday, September 18, at the Paramount Theatre in Cedar Rapids. Tickets will go on sale August 1. The entrepreneurs may come away with new investors to grow their business and guests in the audience will get incredible insight from these seasoned business experts into what it takes to grow a successful business. Local non-profit, Ascent, will be evaluating and choosing the entrepreneurs, then helping them with the presentation. Ascent is an organization focused on helping women start and grow businesses while assisting them in overcoming the challenges of growing a business. IWLC (Iowa Women Lead Change) is formerly known as Iowa Women's Leadership Conference; an organization whose mission is to grow and support Iowa women leaders.
