Event Description:
Workplace Learning Connection Seeks Volunteers for our Financial Literacy Fairs The Financial Literacy Fairs are coordinated by Workplace Learning Connection and is a capstone event – a culminating interactive activity where students put into practice the things they learned through their curriculum. It’s a really fun event for businesses to volunteer for and very easy! You need absolutely no training other than understanding the importance of paying bills! We will train each volunteer in about 15 minutes before the students arrive. It is great when we know if someone works in one of the areas such as finance, transportation, housing, insurance, utilities, retail, etc. because that helps us put them in the part of the fair that makes the most sense. All of the Financial Literacy Fairs will be held at the NEW Linn County Regional Center at 1770 Boyson Road in Hiawatha. April 28 – 9am-noon – Lisbon and Vernon (Marion) April 29 – 9am-noon – Central City, CPU, Regis, Springville April 30 – 8:30am-noon – Excelsior (Linn Mar) May 1 – 9am-noon – Oak Ridge (Linn Mar) and Midland May 2 – 9am-11:30am and 11:30am-2pm – Prairie May 12- 9am-11:30 – Alburnett, North Linn, Vinton-Shellsburg May 13 – 9am-noon – Wilson and Taft May 14 – 9am-11:30am – Franklin May 14 – 11:30am-2pm – McKinley May 15 – 9am-noon – Roosevelt and Benton Community May 16 – 9am-noon - Harding
