Event Description: Calling all dads! Bring your family to the Now Be A Dad Big Truck Event. Thanks to a sponsorship from the McGrath Family of Dealerships, this event is free to attend with a donation of school supplies or items to support basic needs, such as diapers, wipes, household cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. This event aims to promote the engagement of fathers with their children as well as to help generate much needed supplies to support children of all ages. The Big Truck Event will have a variety of vehicles on display outside the Exhibition Hall at Hawkeye Downs. Vehicles include emergency vehicles from the City of Cedar Rapids, construction vehicles from local dealers, sports cars, vintage cars, Harley Davidson motorcycles and many more. Families attending the event will have a chance to explore all of these exciting vehicles with help from an event volunteer! As a bonus, the Cedar Rapids Corvette Club will be on the track for practice races at 4:00PM. Inside the Exhibition Hall, members of the Eastern Iowa Alliance for Fatherhood and Children will have informational booths in an effort to connect dads and families with services in the Cedar Rapids area. This is a great event for any dad looking for a fun activity to participate in with his entire family.
