Panel presenters include Stephanie Weisenbach, Iowa Clean Cities Coordinator housed at the Iowa Economic Development Authority; Anne McCollister, President of Electric Transportation Partners; a representative (TBD) from Zebulon Innovations (Compressed Natural Gas vehicles and refueling) and others are invited/ being confirmed.
The Regional Sustainable Business Alliance is partnering with the Iowa Clean Cities Coalition to convene leaders in the field of alternative fuels and vehicle technologies and present a variety of ways that businesses are taking advantage of them in pursuit of sustainable practices. This includes strategies for retail, workplace, and fleet operations.
Alternatives including higher blends of biodiesel and ethanol, plug-in electric vehicles, compressed natural gas and propane autogas are all making advances in the marketplace. Learn about what is happening in Iowa and the Midwest, and how businesses in the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City corridor can be more involved in reducing petroleum use in transportation, improving air quality and emissions, and lowering operating costs.
The national Clean Cities program, coordinated by the US Department of Energy<http://www1.eere.energy.gov/cleancities/>, exists to convene stakeholders, provide up-to-date, credible information, and help implement strategies to reduce petroleum in transportation. Attendees will also learn about how initiatives and resources at the national level can be leveraged locally. The Iowa Clean Cities Coalition, housed at the Iowa Economic Development Authority, will introduce and facilitate the session.
