Event Description: The Kirkwood Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in Marion is hosting a class to help small businesses learn about online marketing, social media, and other marketing tools available at low- or no- cost. The class, Viral Marketing Strategies for Small Businesses, will include an overview of how a website, blog, and social media work together to create relationships with customers and potential customers. Attendees will discover tips for creating sharable content, managing their time on social media, using social media to share offers and information, and getting found on the web. Tips for using low-cost traditional media will also be shared. The class will be led by Shelly Turner from Turner Marketing Consulting of Cedar Rapids. Mrs. Turner is a certified Guerrilla Marketing Coach specializing social media, online marketing and other low- or no-cost marketing strategies for small businesses. The class will take place at the Kirkwood Training and Outreach Services Center, 3375 Armar Drive, in Marion. The class will be held Wednesday, August 29th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The cost for the class is $29.
