Event Description: Take a break from your daily grind! Spend an evening withyour family or a friend and experience downtown Cedar Rapids with the Convention & Visitors Bureau! Meet outside the visitor center where we'll have sidewalk chalk for the kids, displays of local events and attractions, and free historical walking tours with Cedar Rapids historian Mark Hunter. Let Mark point out the treasures of downtown Cedar Rapids that you may have overlooked. Have your picture taken with American Gothic or in front of the 5 Seasons Tree! Enter to win free tickets and prizes from area attractions and then enjoy a meal at one of our downtown restaurants. Be a Tourist in Your Town by joining us to explore downtown and make plans to enjoy more of our great amenities with these National Tourism Week promotions. Walking Tours will be conducted at 5:30 and 6:45 and will last approximately 45 minutes, but come early, they will fill up fast! Parking Meters run until 6pm.
