Event Description: Brucemore and Indian Creek Nature Center team up to help homeowners discover how to reclaim a valuable resource—the rainwater runoff from their roof and lawn—by planting attractive rain gardens or bioswales, using permeable paving and rain barrels, and making their lawn more absorbent. On Friday evening April 13th, ICNC will conduct a tour of water-capturing features and discuss the role of native plants in landscaping. Then Saturday morning, April 14th, tour Brucemore to learn how they retain their runoff, find out why watersheds matter and explore the role of trees. Cost is $25 for members of Brucemore or ICNC; $30 for non-members. Seating is limited. Register by calling 319-362-0664 or register online at indiancreeknaturecenter.org.
