As a business owner or manager, how can one prepare in the event of an unexpected interruption in business due to a fire or power outage, or worse? Recovery in the region is in now full swing, but local business recovery specialists want to make sure business owners and managers can continue to learn how to prepare for any unexpected event that can disrupt or damage your business.
A special workshop will be held in the board room at the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, 424 First Ave. NE. to help explain many of the issues business owners can face when a disaster occurs.
Two dates are available for this important workshop: April 24 or May 3. Each workshop is from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. The workshop is free and open to the public, but people are encouraged to register. Lunch will be provided by sponsor Tektivity.*
Workshop presenters will include Scott Swenson, who served as the senior case manager of the Business Long-term Recovery Initiative and Jami Haberl of Safeguard Iowa Partnership. Topics to be covered are: Value of Disaster Preparedness; Business Continuity Planning, Flood Insurance Coverage, Resources and Tip and Tools.
