Event Description: This class is the entry level class for the APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) Program. This course covers the fundamental concepts in managing the complete flow of materials in a supply chain from suppliers to customers. Supply chain concepts are introduced and basic terminology emphasized, as are relationships among activities in the supply chain. Other topics include: introduction to supply chain management, demand management and forecasting techniques, priority and capacity planning at the master planning, MRP and PAC levels, aggregate and item inventory management, purchasing and physical distribution, Lean/JIT, quality systems and theory of constraints. Tuition includes student workbook. Computer based exam is not included, however APICS members are eligible for reduced test pricing. Individuals registering later than one week prior to the class will not have a book the first week. This class will meet on Monday evenings for 10 sessions starting March 19.

Kirkwood Community College is located near the intersection of I-380 and Highway 30 on the southern edge of Cedar Rapids.
