Event Description: Take a fun, family-friendly walk with a Nature Center naturalist to learn about fireflies. These beetles are known for their conspicuous crepuscular use of bioluminescence to attract mates or prey. In other words, their rear ends light up! Enjoy the evening light show on our prairie at at the woods edge. Watch for different species using variations of color and pulses of light and try your hand at luring them to your own flashing light. Fee is $3 for ICNC members ($7 for member families); $5 for non-members ($12 for non-member families). Register by calling 362-0664 or register online through our website.


Directions:
The Indian Creek Nature Center is located at the intersection of Otis and Bertram Roads SE in Cedar Rapids. Bertram Road may be accessed from either Mt Vernon Road SE or Highway 13. Watch for the brown Indian Creek Nature Center signs.
