Event Description: Interested in keeping backyard chickens? It's now legal in Cedar Rapids but urban chicken keepers must complete this basic workshop prior to receiving their city permit. This program details the ins and outs of legally and successfully keeping hens in urban and suburban environments. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate that meets the City of Cedar Rapids' requirements for keeping backyard hens. Fee is $7 for ICNC members; $10 for non-members. Pre-registration is required by 4pm on Tuesday, June 7th. Register by calling 362-0664 or register online through our website.


Directions:
The Indian Creek Nature Center is located at the intersection of Otis and Bertram Roads SE in Cedar Rapids. Bertram Road may be accessed from either Mt Vernon Road SE or Highway 13. Watch for the brown Indian Creek Nature Center signs.
