GIVE is on a mission to provide Iowa’s Veterans with the empowerment, camaraderie, and accessibility they deserve.
About us
Golf for Injured Veterans Everywhere (GIVE) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides support for Iowa’s injured and disabled Veterans who use the Des Moines, Iowa City, and Sioux Falls Veterans Affairs healthcare systems. We offer a free rehabilitative golf instruction program (taught by PGA pros) that helps our Veterans play golf, no matter what obstacles they’re facing. But golf is just the beginning of our true impact. The GIVE program empowers Iowa’s Veterans to overcome their limitations, helps them improve their physical and mental well-being, and connects them with a supportive community of fellow servicemen and women. Over 2,000 GIVE Veterans have graduated from our program since it began in 2007. However, we’re just getting started. Established on this day in 1941, the USO was created to lift morale and mobilize support for America’s military as the probability of our involvement in WWII grew more evident. Bringing together six esteemed organizations – the Salvation Army, YMCA, YWCA, National Catholic Community Services, National Travelers Aid Association, and the National Jewish Welfare Board – the USO has continued to serve those who serve us. With 250 centers worldwide, the USO remains committed to supporting Veterans through education, communication, delivering essential resources and more.
