In an effort to increase support of a strong business environment in our community, The Chamber sponsored the creation of a Political Action Committee (PAC). Without a PAC the Chamber is very limited in its efforts to support pro-business candidates looking to serve in the state legislature, city council, county board of supervisors or any other elected board.

The PAC is a division of the Cedar Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce with a separate board of directors named by The Chamber. The PAC Board includes representation from small and large business members. For more information on the PAC please contact Lisa Guge at lguge@cedarrapids.org or 319.730.1401.

The Linn Area BizPAC announced its endorsements for the November 8, 2011 Cedar Rapids City Council elections. The endorsed candidates were selected through a process of questionnaires, interviews and research by the Linn Area BizPAC Board. To be considered for endorsement, candidates must complete the Linn Area BizPAC questionnaire and participate in an interview with the BizPAC Board. The BizPAC also used criteria such as support of a pro business agenda, leadership positions and electability to make the final decisions.  We believe our endorsements will lead to a greater Cedar Rapids and a better Iowa for business growth.
